Considered in a proper historical and comparative perspective, India has always stood for “vasudhaiva kutumbkam”, i.e., the world is a community. India’s ancient wisdom, which is guided by the ideals of hope, unity, and cooperation, is gaining increasing resonance all over the world in the context of heightened consciousness of the irretrievable destruction of life support systems through mounting toxic wastes, global warming, land development, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
